This very exciting feature automatically creates working QR codes (to copy to clipboard or save as .png file) for all of your forms, documents, or other assets you might digitize and want to use a QR code to render on mobile devices.
The Form Engine is the only tool you need with your Quickbase to deploy the value of QR codes across your organization, with multitudes of uses.
Think of a QR code as a printed or on-screen permalink, that iphones and Android phones (ver 8 or later) and tablets can now read natively with their cameras. QR codes are a vast improvement over (and very different from) bar codes (see comparison below). Most cameras pointed at a QR code will prompt the user to render what the QR code links to by opening it in the phone/tablet’s browser.
QR codes are by far the easiest (and perhaps the only) mobile links on physical objects: a connector between the physical world and the web, letting you give information and support to your intended users/customers on demand, anywhere they can see a QR code and use their phone cameras to open it. You can also get data back from them, communicate with them, educate them, make them offers, and much more.
So the Form Engine also digitizes assets and content, generates QR codes for each of them, and serves as your library of QR codes and assets just like the other permalinks it creates and lets you manage those assets.
